The Jadavpur Vidyapith has been established in the year of 1957 under the guidance of the National Council of Education, Bengal.
The New Building of Jadavpur Vidyapith was inaugurated by Pandit Bidhubhusan Shastri on 11th March, 1957.
The fund for construction of the building was provided by Jadavpur University and handed over to the council.
The parent body of the school “National Council of Education” has been established on 11th November, 1906, comprising 92 members under the leadership of Sri Satyendranath Thakur. The other eminent members of the council were Sri Hirendranath Datta, Sri Satish Chandra Mukhopadhyay, Sri Ashutosh Chowdhury, Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore, Sri Aurobindo Ghosh and other eminent educationists and social workers.
The first executive committee of “Jadavpur Vidyapith Alumni Association” was constituted in a Special General Meeting held on 29th July, 2000. It had also been resolved in the said meeting that the Annual Re-union of Ex-students would be held on 15th August of every year, instead of 26th January as organised earlier.
As per available records, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Mr. Saibal Sen Gupta and Mr. Subrata Das Gupta adorned the chair of President and Mr. Pijush Basu Chowdhury, Mr. Anshuman Bhowmick, Mr. Subhojit Majumder, Mr. Sambudhya Banerjee, Dr. Debal Majumder and Mr. Raja Mukherjee acted efficiently as secretary of our beloved association “Jadavpur Vidyapith Alumni Association (JVAA)”, in different year starting from the year of 2000 to 2020.
“Jadavpur Vidyapith Alumni Association” is now functioning with an objective to promote educational activities in school, to take part in the developments of school, to stand beside the present and ex-students in their need and to develop harmony among the present students and alumni.
The Association used to organise different cultural programme, reunion, to award meritorious students and raise fund to contribute in different social causes, in a nut shell.
In 2020, the reunion programme has been held on 5th January, 2020 which would be continued in every year as resolved in the Annual General Body meeting held on 15th August,2019.
